Launched in 2023 by Pacific Pickleball, the Melbourne Mavericks are Australia's newest Pro Pickleball team. Melbourne Mavericks and Pacific Pickleball are proud to be partnered with Pickleball Australia Association as the Official Professional Pickleball League in Australia.
As part of their Asia-pacific launch, Pacific Pickleball approached Happy Simple to design a new team logo and visual identity for the Melbourne Mavericks. The brief was part of a wider scope to design multiple team logos for the national pickleball league that were visually appealing, consistent in their styling and that wouldn't look out of place when compared with similar A-league or tennis team logos.
Working closely with Pacific Pickleball, we designed series of team brands alongside the Melbourne Mavericks that inspire and create a sense of belonging. Supported by apparel designs and merchandise, each logo captures the essence of sport – to "play", enjoy the competition and to be victorious on equal ground.
